House of Hope Romanian Orphan Ministry

A Place to call Home

Community Outreach

We began working in the local Baptist Church, when Rebecca first went to Campulung, in February 1997. Over the years, we have had many team members and Pastors, come and work with the church, conducting many activities; such as Revivals, teaching conferences, etc. We have also had many construction teams that have helped to remodel many rooms in the church. The church works closely with our ministry to show love and support for the orphans we help. We have also worked closely with the local Pentecostal church, reaching out to the Gypsy villages through evangelism and humanitarian needs. We work closely with Campus Crusade to evangelize the community at large through events, such as showing the “Jesus Film.”

We stay close with the local government to help the community children at Christmas and in other ways. We have been able to help support the local community through hiring men and women from the local population, along with purchasing our construction materials through local suppliers. We also purchase most of our food items, to feed Mission Teams, orphans and now, our first eight children, from local food stores. We have helped the local economy also, from our team members purchasing local souvenir items.

Our goal is to help the local community in every way possible and when the Mission Centre is open, we will be able to have many activities that will help support the orphans plus the local population. In the future, we pray to work closely with the local businesses and sponsor some of our orphans to apprentice in their businesses. We believe our training and preparation of these orphans to become productive citizens will help the community at large, by having no orphans on the streets to be causing many problems.
